catering guests. Food is locally sourced and seasonal, 
firewood is plentiful for the fireplaces, and a sun terrace is yours for alfresco dining. The bedrooms are flexible for either 
2 couples, a small family or 4 individuals.

and we are affiliated with the Rent a Local scheme 
(www.swedishcountryside.se) for those wanting to discover the area’s best fishing, foraging, wildlife spotting, cycling and hiking trails guided by an expert. Loans of canoes and rowing boats by arrangement. We want to help you discover the 
beauty of our river hamlet for yourselves.

Walk the ancient pilgrim trail St Olofsleden

the route to Nidaros Cathedral

In 2013, St Olof’s 1000 year old coast to coast path from Selånger in Sweden to Trondheim in Norway reopened. Well signposted, and passing through varied coastal, forest, upland and mountain terrain the 564 km trail can be completed as a 6 week pilgrimage during the summer months.

Close to Ovansjö

For a shorter excursion, we encourage our guests to join the pilgrim trail at Borgsjö, 20 km from our door, to hike the beautiful middle 
trail east or westwards. We help with logistics, and you have options of staying overnight along the trail or returning 
to your home base in Ovansjö, choosing the pace that suits 
you best.
